Group Classes

I teach group classes Monday-Wednesday at a major pet supply store, located on Market Place Boulevard between Best Buys and Ashley Furniture.  Group classes are an economical way to get training at a bargain price.  Group classes taught at the pet supply store are  based upon nationally developed curriculums for Puppies and Adult dogs. There are also AKC Canine Good Citizen classes. Group classes at the store work well for dogs who are not easily distracted, or who already have some basic skills that need proofing against distraction. In-store classes also provide ample opportunities for socialization.

Please feel free to come by the store and check out the calendar and perhaps catch a class in action.  Free puppy playtimes for puppies 6 months and younger are regularly listed on the store calendar.  Please bring a copy of the vaccination records at the first visit to a scheduled playtime..

In addition, I am excited to announce I am now offering group classes at my own facility as well!  Click here for more information on those:  Modular Classes

Private In-Home Training

Not everyone has the time or desire to go outside their home to group classes. Public group sessions have a fixed day and time on a set schedule and must follow a predetermined curriculum that is not based on your individual needs. I bring class to you, at your home at a time and day that fits your schedule, with a curriculum that is flexible to fit your needs.

Working in your home also has the added benefit of training in a familiar environment with fewer (or at least familiar) distractions for you and your dog, which makes learning easier on you both. The home is a frequent site for problem behaviors which are more easily addressed at the “scene of the crime.”  Coming to your home also allows me to better assist you in developing “environmental management” techniques to address problem behaviors or just ease the stress of having a canine in your household. There will be a additional $25 travel charge per visit for locations 20 miles or further from the Cumming town square.

By scheduling private sessions, we can also address issues such as overreaction to people, bikes, skaters, other dogs, etc when walking in public areas such as green way paths or public parks.
